Michaels Cue Bid

Michaels is a cue-bid that says you have a two-suited hand, with five or more cards in each suit. Usually there is no point minimum for making the Michaels overcall, although factors like vulnerability should be considered. Many partnerships also agree to specific point count ranges for example 8+ HCP so check with your partner before play.

Making a Michaels Cue Bid

You should hold five or more cards in two suits, neither of the 5 card suits should be the suit that the opposition have opened.
  • Two suits holding 5 or more cards in each suit
