Responding to an overcall isn’t about following strict rules, like it is with opening bids. Instead, you look for things like: Do I have support for their suit? Do I have points to explore further? Should I stay quiet? The key is to show support when you can, stay safe when you can’t, and always keep the partnership goals in mind. A little judgment goes a long way!
